Q. What if I have food allergies?
Our cakes and cupcakes contain dairy and may contain nuts. Substitution may be applied. Please let us know ahead if you have any food allergies. We can also custom-make gluten-free cake and egg-free cake as per customer’s special request. Please contact us for more details.
Products made at Zahra Cakes are made in an environment where nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat and other allergens are used and handled. For that reason we cannot guarantee any products made at Zahra Cakes to be free of required allergens. Even if nuts are not on the list of ingredients there still may be a trace of nuts or nut oils in the product. If anyone is allergic to any type of nuts it would be advised to not eat any of the products from Zahra Cakes.
Q. Do you use vegetarian gelatine?
All our gelatine is vegetarian. If you have specific requirements, let us know and we will try to accommodate your requests.
Q. How long will cakes keep fresh and will they have to be refrigerated? All our cakes are freshly made and will remain fresh for at least 4 days. Fresh cream cakes must be kept refrigerated when taken home and consumed within 4 days.
Q. Are your cakes Halal?
At Zahra Cakes we make every possible effort in making sure our products do not contain animal fat. In addition we use vegetarian gelatine. Any sweets made with non vegetrian gelatine are suitable for Halal diets.
Q. Are your cakes suitable for my special requirements?
Cakes are tailor-made to your requirements. When ordering a cake, please provide us with any extra information regarding your individual requirements and we will try our best to accommodate your request.
Q. When should I place an order?
Our cakes and cupcakes are known for their freshness and quality.
A couple of days for simple cakes
4/5 days for cakes with drips and other decorations
At least 2/3 weeks for cakes which require 3D models
We recommend you to place your order at least 8 to 12 weeks before the pick-up date for wedding cakes.
Last minute orders may be arranged but you need to contact us and we will make every effort in accommodating your request.
Q. How do I pay for my order?
We take payments in the form of cash and credit and debit cards.
Q. What if the item I like is not on the list? Can I still order it?
Absolutely! Zahra Cakes is experimenting with new desserts all the time and of course we do custom orders! Let us know what you like and we will make it, just for you!
Q. Can you deliver our wedding cake?
Yes. Nationwide delivery is available for all of our wedding cakes. Please ask for a quote.
Q. Can I mix the flavours of my wedding cake?
We can design your special wedding cake according to your request. If you choose a multi tier cake, each tier can be a different flavour.
Q. Do I have to choose one of the wedding cakes from your portfolio?
No. All of the wedding cakes are individually designed. You can certainly order a wedding cake from the website, but they are also there as inspiration. Please call us to discuss any ideas that you have for your wedding cake.
Q. I’ve seen a few wedding cakes that I like on your website. Can you combine wedding cake designs?
Yes. Any design, shape or size can be combined to create a bespoke wedding cake.
Q. Do you bake your own wedding cakes?
Yes. All our cakes are baked on our premises. We take great care making sure your special occasion cake tastes as good as it looks.

All fresh cream cakes must be stored in the fridge and consumed within 4 days.
Fondant and butter cream cakes should be stored in a cool dark place.
Q. Do you do cakes with photograhic/edible images?
Yes! Using the latest technology we are able to reproduce any photograph or image in edible form. Whenever an image is scanned and printed the quality deteriorates so make sure you give us the best quality pictures you can. If you wish to supply a digital picture, we only accept jpg images. You will be prompted to upload this image when placing your order on line.
Q. Can you provide me with a cake stand?
We certainly can - Cake stands are available for hire and need pre-booking well in advance to avoid disappointment. Hire charge as well as a refundable deposit is required for the stand(s). Stand hire for orders over £325 is included for the day (refundable deposit still required) of the function and must be returned the following day. For each day the stand is not returned, Zahra Cakes will deduct £10 for each the stand is not returned. If the stand is not returned after a period of 5 days, the deposit amount will not be refunded.
